Let me just start by saying Cookie cutters just don't cut it! We regularly get clients who call us and ask us to build cheap websites. Now our packages are not really that expensive starting at mere $499 but I guess it is considered "pricey" for some people. And there is a good reason for it.

There are several companies which sell real estate website for cheap monthly prices. It sounds like a good deal but what these companies do not tell you is that there are just way too many problems and catches with this deals.

I will discuss them one by one. Oh dear!!!

- No ownership: You do not own the website that you are paying for. So anytime you cancel your contract they will take away your website. You get nothing, all the time you spent marketing your website address will go to waste. Ouch!

- Long term contracts: A lot of these companies have long terms contracts that you cannot sign out from. So you are locked into their crappy service even if you are unhappy. Ouch!

- Poor template based design: I have a cousin, he is still in high school but he designs webpages for his friends. I can honestly say that his designs look professional compared to these cheapo monthly membership websites.

- Search engine Shock: These websites are so poorly coded that search engines cannot read the content on the sites. So you can kiss your dreams of ranking high good bye.

- Extra charge for customer service: A lot of these companies charge you extra for customer service. You pay for support right from the start even after paying a monthly fee. Ouch!

So now if you find anyone or if you yourself are considering one of those cheap, ugly, cookie-cutter monthly fee websites then please do ask the web design company about the listed items above. It will make you a better buyer of real estate web site services.
